Online game "Girlspace.com Virtual Model," designed and developed by IC Group Inc., receives a top pick in a creative competition voted on by newsletter readers of iMedia Communications, Inc - leading trade publisher serving the interactive media and marketing industries.

Tuesday January 25, 2005

The Kotex (a Kimberly-Clark company) Girlspace website is a place for teenage girls to express themselves and learn more about the things that matter to them most. The online game was developed as a new activity within the games section and to increase website registration.

The creative elements - a 'virtual model' that could be changed by choosing facial features, clothing and background environments - its what won over the votes in this creative competition.

iMedia reports the design as highly effective for a number of key reasons: the game matched the main site's look and feel while standing out just enough to draw attention; the level of customization reflects the diversity of the Girlspace.com user; and most important, the game strived to give teen girls a format for self-expression.
