Flex Web Developer - Winnipeg, MB

The Flex Developer designs, develops, and implements web-based Flex applications to support business requirements. This role follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing. The Flex Developer resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Primary Functions include; developing a reusable platform to create engaging web 2.0 user experiences, collaborating with project team to determine the requirements of the platform and its supported applications, developing a range of large, object-oriented ActionScript-based applications, implementing the functionality supported by the platform, participating in debugging the end-to-end application and writing technical documentation.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years Flex development or equivalent real-life project experience
• Strong knowledge of ActionScript 2.0, DHTML, AJAX, and JavaScript. Action Script 3.0, XML, and SQL
• Experience with consuming XML & Web Services in Flex applications and integrating Flex applications using the local shared-object
• Understanding of the latest Flex innovations, including remoting and Flex Data Services. Familiarity with AIR a plus.
• Well-versed in object-oriented programming methodologies, especially within Action Script
• Experience with MVC architectures such as the Cairngorm framework
• Previous experience architecting Flex-based platforms and building upon them in large, highly interactive applications.
• Excellent understanding of user-centered design methodology and usability testing.
• GUI design experience
• Flash experience and knowledge of back-end technologies such as ASP.NET is an asset
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Creative problem solving ability
• Ability to work hard and deliver results under pressure
• Results and team-oriented, decisive, with a strong sense of humor
