ComCorp Fuels Web Activity with Online Racing Promotion
Promo Brief - March 2008
Lafayette, LA - March 11, 2008 -- Following Fox Sports' immensely successful kick-off to the 2008 NASCAR season, ComCorp is in the chase with an online promotion aimed at driving up website registrations.
Called "FoxFan Fast Tracks", viewers can visit one of the six ComCorp Fox station websites and register to play a racing-themed online game for the chance at NASCAR gift cards and merchandise. One sweeps winner will win a trip for four to the Talladega NASCAR race, including the use of a Winnebago to watch the event from the infield. Over $100,000 in prizes are available to be won.
The initiative is promoted via TV promos and other media announcements, and runs until December 15, 2008. Online game development, hosting, sweeps services and Prize Insurance is provided by iC Group.
Greg Elmore, VP of Corporate Planning says, "We want to expand on our Fox Network Franchises and this is just the beginning. Our coverage of NASCAR is stronger than ever in its eighth year running and we feel that we need to capitalize on this success. Fast Track is one of the ways we are using our big Fox franchise sports and entertainment programming to drive local identity and web registrations for our stations."
NASCAR on FOX is as healthy as ever in terms of viewership and advertiser interest. Its early season portion of the NASCAR calendar dominates the ratings. NASCAR on FOX ratings lead over the NBA, FOX's primary seasonal competitor. NASCAR has nearly tripling the NBA's rating last season.
